After surviving one of the coldest winters on record, it's great to finally have Spring arrive. Time to get out and shoot more blooming trees!

Early Spring is a difficult time of year for Aerial Drone photography in New Jersey. The weather is getting better in some respects (high winds are an issue in Spring), but there's still no color. So besides reminiscing on a more color time, it's a good time to shoot some urban landscapes or beach scenes until things get green again.

These shots were quite a challenge due to lots of downed trees and massive power outages. Always keep an eye on temperature, wind and blowing Snow.

Snow Storms provide great opportunities for beautiful Drone scenics, especially in the North East when things can look really dead in the winter. It's important to remember a few things. First, wait for it to stop snowing. Falling snow can bring your motors to a stop plus you will most likely violate the VLOS rules by the FAA. Second watch for blowing snow after the storm. 3rd keep your batteries warm. Make sure you a good launch site. I love using the Hoodman UAV Launch pad. It's very well constructed. Try to fly right after the storm clears and the snow is fresh. It never gets old!
